SSESE WIDOWS AND ORPHAN EMPOWERMENT ASSOCIATION.
This Association is made up of different individual groups from different parts of Buikwe District (Ug). These individual groups are far away from each other in terms of distance and this makes it difficult to coordinate.
Moving from one point to another is the most big challenge I have found as ’a coordinator’ with so little to facilitate transport costs as acquired necessities. Am so happy to see that I keep on going with all these challenges, sometime I lose hope for tomorrow but something keeps on pushing me to the next day from time to time.
When I was almost helpless in 2007, I met Joanita Sitenda, and she encouraged me to continue with my ideas because it was for a good cause. In 2009, I was introduced to Miss Bitten Schei, Mette K. Ofstad and TorunnAnderssen who gave me good personal lectures about what I had stated and what they were intending to do to the poor Rural women in Uganda.
Now I am more stronger than I was before, the women I coordinate with have also more interest in working together as a way to improve on their economic status and welfare as well as their standards of living. We have still the same challenges as before, but what is more important now is the courage and the training skills we get from Norway.
This has raised the hope we had lost and rural have slowly gained momentum and some of them are now re-grouping. They enjoy what we do and learn what we teach them. In general they are so impressed with the skills and the techniques they get from ‘’Women Can Do It Grassroot leaders Forum (WCDIGLF)’’ programmes.
Thanks be to God and to the Norwegian people at large.
